Who is responsible
Motorhome Tools is the controller for personal data on this site. We are in the United Kingdom. To ask about your data, use the contact form. A person reads that message.
What we collect
You do not need an account. The calculators do not upload your van.
- Ask questions. If a question has no matching page, we store the question, the page address, and an email only if you type one.
- Contact form messages. We store the message, a name if you type one, an email if you type one, and the page address.
- Calculator figures. Power and Water keep the numbers you type in the browser on this device. We do not receive them.
- Connection address. A repeat-post limit uses the connection address in memory for a short time. That address is not written into the saved question or message.

Why, and the lawful basis
We keep an Ask question or a contact message so Motorhome Tools can run the site and understand what you asked. The lawful basis is legitimate interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). The interest is answering questions about these calculators and keeping a record of what was asked. A question is not used to advertise, and it is not used for an automated decision about you.
A name or email is optional. If you type one, you are choosing to give it so a person can reply. The lawful basis for that name or email is consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw it by asking us, through the contact form, to delete the message. Using the calculators does not depend on that choice.
How long we keep it
Ask questions and contact messages are kept for up to 12 months from the day we receive them, then deleted. Host logs may drop sooner than that. A copy of an unmatched Ask question may also stay in your browser until you clear site data for this site. Calculator figures stay on your device until you clear them. We do not keep them on the server.
Your rights
You can ask Motorhome Tools for:
- access to the personal data we hold about you
- rectification if it is wrong
- erasure
- objection to processing that uses legitimate interests, including the questions and messages described above
Use the contact form and say which right you want to use. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
Other organisations
- Render (hosting, USA region). Stores the log line so Motorhome Tools can read it.
- Cloudflare (Workers/CDN, if used). May see the connection, including an IP address, in order to deliver the page.
We do not sell personal data and we do not use advertising networks.
Payload and Tyres are a separate site at motorhomepayload.co.uk. Opening those links leaves this site. Power and Water on this site keep figures in your browser and do not send your van to us.
