Motorhome gas / LPG in plain English is a map of leisure gas: cookers, fridge (if gas), heating, and bottles — not a pressure or safety certificate, and not invented burn times.
What this is for
Knowing what your van is built for before you swap a bottle or guess how long it will last. Full bottles are also weight — see fresh and waste tanks for the same payload idea.
Bottle types
UK vans often use Campingaz or BBQ-style cylinders, or fixed tanks. Read what your van is built for. Do not mix incompatible regulators or bottles.
Changeover is in the appliance and bottle maker instructions — we will not invent a jet size, a pressure, or a “typical” burn time.
Winter note
Gas performance and frost on bottles can change in cold weather — follow your heater and bottle maker guidance. We don’t invent frost rules.
If you are unsure about the installation, check a gas-safe fitter. This page is not a certificate.
